Scoutless Terms of Service

These Terms govern use of Scoutless at https://scoutless.app and its related features (the “Service”). “Scoutless,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service under the Scoutless brand. Contact us at help@scoutless.app.

By accepting these Terms or using the Service after being given notice of them, you agree to them to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information; these Terms are not consent to processing that requires separate consent.

The Service is not intended for children under 13. Users under the age of legal majority must have a parent or legal guardian review these Terms and permit their use. Additional age restrictions may apply to AI features; access must comply with the restrictions disclosed for those features. A parent’s permission does not override an AI provider’s age restrictions.

You must provide accurate account information, use only accounts you are authorized to use, and protect your sign-in credentials and devices. Google or Discord sign-in is subject to the applicable provider’s terms. Notify help@scoutless.app if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account, but this does not remove rights you have concerning unauthorized activity under applicable law.

If you use Scoutless for a team, school, or organization, you must have authority to act for it. Creating an account does not verify team membership or make you an official representative of a team.

Scoutless offers robotics competition information, team and event profiles, match results, rankings, statistics, scouting reports, AI questions and answers, match footage references, video analysis, and strategy support where available. Features identified as previews, demonstrations, or beta features may use illustrative data, be incomplete, or change.

Scoutless is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official service of VEX Robotics, the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, VEX Events, or any event organizer unless expressly stated. Third-party names and marks belong to their owners.

AI answers, video observations, robot descriptions, confidence scores, predictions, and strategy suggestions can be incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or inconsistent. A citation or confidence score is not a guarantee. Footage can obscure robots, omit matches, or make individual actions difficult to attribute. Statistics can depend on incomplete datasets and alliance-level results.

Verify important information against official results, the applicable game manual, original footage, and qualified human judgment. Scoutless does not make official referee, inspection, eligibility, judging, award, or safety decisions and does not guarantee competitive outcomes. Do not treat generated engineering or programming advice as a substitute for appropriate testing, supervision, or safe robot operation. Do not use Scoutless to make consequential decisions about an individual’s education, employment, or eligibility without independent review.

Analysis requests may be queued, limited, delayed, reused from an existing report, or fail. A processing estimate is not a guaranteed completion time. Reports derived from public competition data may be available to other users; requesting a report does not make it exclusive or confidential.

You retain rights you hold in questions, feedback, and other material you submit. Submit only material you have authority to provide and allow us to process. Do not submit passwords, access tokens, private student records, sensitive personal information, or confidential team information you are not authorized to share. Public availability of a photo or video does not itself grant permission to reproduce or analyze it.

You grant Scoutless a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, and process your submissions, and to generate responses from them, only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the Service in accordance with the Privacy Policy. This includes processing by service providers. It does not authorize us to publish private chat messages as public submissions. Material you expressly submit for public display may be displayed for that purpose.

This license lasts only as needed for those purposes and applicable retention obligations. It does not transfer ownership of your content. AI outputs may resemble outputs provided to other users and may not qualify for exclusive intellectual property protection.

These restrictions do not limit activities protected by law, including authorized security research. Send vulnerability reports privately to help@scoutless.app without exposing other users’ information.

Scoutless and its licensors retain rights in the Service’s software, branding, designs, and original content. Subject to these Terms, you may use the Service and its reports for personal, educational, and team scouting purposes. This permission does not transfer ownership of underlying event data, recordings, photos, trademarks, or third-party content and does not grant rights that Scoutless does not hold.

Third-party sign-in, websites, recordings, and embedded players have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their availability or content. Access to a recording through Scoutless is not permission to download or redistribute it.

For a copyright, privacy, or accuracy concern, email help@scoutless.app with the relevant Scoutless URL, a description of the issue, and enough information to evaluate your request and respond. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information. We may restrict disputed material while reviewing a report. This contact process does not claim a statutory copyright safe harbor or replace legally required notices.

The current Service does not offer completed payment, subscription, or Scout Credits purchasing functionality. A plan label, preview price, or AI processing cost estimate is not a purchase or permission to charge you.

If paid features become available, we will disclose prices, applicable taxes, usage limits, renewal terms, cancellation methods, and refund conditions before purchase and obtain any required agreement. These Terms alone do not authorize recurring charges. Statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.

We may change or discontinue features and restrict access to address misuse, security risks, legal obligations, or service operations. Where reasonably practicable, we will explain a restriction and provide an opportunity to contact us. Immediate action may be needed for security or legal reasons. Any paid-service changes remain subject to applicable purchase terms and law.

You may stop using Scoutless at any time and request account deletion at help@scoutless.app. Signing out does not delete your account or browser-stored history. Data handling after termination is described in the Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature need to survive termination, including accrued obligations, ownership, and liability limitations, continue to apply.

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or noninfringement. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the extent permitted by law, Scoutless is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data arising from use of the Service. To that same extent, Scoutless’s aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid Scoutless for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where exclusion is unlawful, or any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

You may contact help@scoutless.app to try to resolve a concern informally. Doing so is voluntary and does not prevent you from seeking a legal remedy, filing a complaint with a regulator, or meeting a legal deadline. These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver. Applicable law determines governing law and the courts with jurisdiction; mandatory consumer protections remain available.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive it. These Terms and any expressly accepted feature or purchase terms form the agreement concerning the Service.

We will publish updated Terms with their effective date. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or another appropriate channel and obtain renewed acceptance where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights.
